Day 2 - YXist 28DC

28DYC Day 02

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5

Welcome to Day 2, and we are settling our focus in on finding your "why."

First you have to know, yes, you have a "why," you have a purpose, and you are significant. We see that here in Jeremiah 1.

In verse 5 it says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."

You were created with a specific purpose and plan by God Himself.

Before your parents ever met, God thought about you and wrote your destiny clear. You see, you were custom‑made and prepackaged for your "why."

You know, there are certain graces and abilities that were in you when you were born and others when you were born again.

You know, I'm really a big movie guy, and I think about this movie "Man of Steel."

And when Superman came to be and he was doing all of these good deeds and helping all of these people, it wasn't until he met his father and he put on that suit that he could now take off and fly with the ability that we all know him for.

And it's that same way when you give your life to God and you allow Him to show you your purpose; you can go places you never thought you'd be able to go.

Now, of course, you may have doubts about your significance on this planet right now. Well, so did Jeremiah in verse 6.

You know, as I keep reading, it says then Jeremiah said, "'Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I'm only a youth.'

But the Lord said to him, 'Do not say that "I'm only a youth"; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.'"

Verse 8 goes on to say, "Do not be afraid of them."

You see, it's vital for you to understand and know what your purpose is here on the earth today because God wants to use you in a big way.

Going back into Acts 26:16‑19, it says, "But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and in those in which will I appear to you, delivering you from the people and from the gentiles ‑‑ to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, and that they may receive the forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me."

You see, you've got to be "why" driven.

No matter what your past is like, no matter where you are right now, God wants to reveal your purpose to you so that He can use you to win more people and put them on this path that you're on, whether it's in your faith groups, whether it's just in your neighbors, but you want to be "why" driven.

You know, live your life by your "why." You know, let it set the direction of your life and the course through these next four weeks and beyond, because you are significant in changing the world today.
